Building Committee Update New Building Pictures - 12/31/2008 If you attended the groundbreaking on November 16, you know that things are happening with the building because you got a chance to experience the mud of construction firsthand! It was a great day to experience the miracle that God has done in providing Lifechurch this building. Our contractor is working on the initial phase of the parking lot expansion; he hopes to begin paving the week of November 16, and finish the work before the weather won’t allow any more paving work. We’re continuing to talk to the owner of the neighboring property to the west (the Mucci property) about an arrangement to be able to share parking with him. Lifechurch would help with the cost of doing his parking lot, and in return, we’ll have a formal agreement that would allow us to use that parking just as if Lifechurch owned it. We’re also praying that God will ultimately give us the entire Mucci property, not just a joint parking agreement. The township has done their first review of the building permit application. The building committee and the architect are reviewing their comments and will respond back to them as quickly as possible with the goal of having a building permit in hand so the renovation work can start right after Thanksgiving. The final selection of the contractor to do the interior renovation work will happen before Thanksgiving, allowing work to start as soon as the building permit is approved. Both contractors still in the running to do the work have said that construction would take about 12 weeks after work starts. Our goal of moving in by the end of February 2009 looks to be in sight! We are still waiting to hear about the foundation grant that we applied for in September. The foundation has money that they have to give away yet in 2008; they wanted to see activity beginning before they make their final decision. Lots of excitement, lots of challenges, and a ton of God’s blessings to be thankful for! Psalms 127:1 says, “Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” Let’s remember that the Lord is building this house for Lifechurch to minister to Canton and the surrounding communities!
